a-project is developing the grid constructions of surface and plane into 3-dimensional grid constructions for a varied and flexible spatial definition of enclosure. The spaces are constructed as an involving manipulation of grid with an associated framework of component typologies occupying the respective planar elements. Developing a rigour and flexibility of spatial operations that respond to localised manipulations and contingent implications of “grid” and the potential of “component” typologies within this grid.

a-project is developing these “room” studies as an ongoing framework that suggests multiple possibilities for spatial definition and occupation. In this instance forming an evolving logic of a single “room”, and investigating the spatial potential of diverse reconstructions of the 3d grid envelope and the associated component iterations / serial deviations.

a-project is an architectural design practice that provides a flexible architectural service that is responsive to the complexities of contemporary life and the varied situations of the built environment and client needs. It focusses on an open approach to design problems – responding to the multiple factors that shape the process of designing – from the social, economic and physical environmental challenges to historic, material and personal narratives.
