a-project is developing the implications for a framed and surfaced ceiling construction utilising manipulations of grid and a framework of component typologies and perforations. Developing a rigour of operations on a soffit condition that respond to localised manipulations and contingent implications of “grid” and the potential of “component” typologies within this grid.

a-project is developing these “ceiling” studies as an ongoing framework of multiple possibilities for architectural occupation. In this instance developing an evolving logic of “room” occupation and spatial delineation.

grid 7 _ perforation

a-project is developing logics of perforation of grid structures with the algorithmic manipulation of solid / void occupation across a distributed field. This developing occupation within the grid is to be tested within projects at a variety of scales that again are responsive to specific contexts and contingent factors that influence the rhythm and occupancy of the grid – in this instance in terms of the logics of perforation.

a-project is developing the possibilities of a fully controlled ordering mechanism that is then subject to the disturbances and interruptions of context and the problematic situation. The perforation of the grids continue to be shown in an abstracted and isolated condition, but with the capacity to be applicable at scales from field conditions through to individual building elements, structures and components.

This development of the approach extends the framework construction of the grid with additional manipulation of perforation.
